Grand Junction, CO – PrimeHealth+ joins the National Association of Community Health Centers and over 1,500 Community Health Centers (CHCs) across the country to celebrate National Health Center Week and recognize the vital role health centers play in providing affordable, effective, comprehensive primary care to more than 52 million Americans, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. This year, we celebrate how health centers use innovation to each more patients and improve outcomes.
For over 38 years, PrimeHealth+ has provided primary medical, dental, behavioral health, and now pharmacy services in Mesa County. We have two main clinic sites, two school-based health centers and outreach clinics at the Day Center and Homeward Bound 29 Road Emergency
Shelter. In August 2025, we opened our new health center at 526 29 ½ Road. This new facility was built to add more capacity and serve more residents. A full-service pharmacy was added to serve the full community. There is no other clinic in town where a patient can receive medical, dental, behavioral health care, and fill prescriptions all under one roof. In 2025, we served over 14,000 people with 52,800 visits. Our pharmacy filled over 40,000 prescriptions and we began offering free home delivery.
Health centers don’t just expand access. They improve outcomes and save money. Though just 1% of national health care spending, CHCs deliver primary care to 14% of the U.S. population and save the health care system billions of dollars each year by preventing costly hospital visits. PrimeHealth+ is proud to be part of this critical mission.
Part of this week’s celebration includes a collaboration with Grand Junction Community Food Bank, bringing their Harvest Mobile Market to the parking lot at PrimeHealth+ for patients and neighbors to access fresh produce and nutritious foods.
