Dr. Jensen obtained her undergraduate degree at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM then went on to Temple University School of Medicine at Philadelphia, PA for her medical degree. She began her Internal Medicine internship at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV but found that she missed the wide-open spaces and blue skies out west so relocated to the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque, NM to finish the Internal Medicine residency. After completion of the training, she relocated to Bethel, Alaska to provide full spectrum healthcare to native Alaskan Eskimos. During a brief visit to see in-laws in Grand Junction, she fell in love with the area and community. She joined the Grand Junction VA Medical Center in July 2000 and served for 20 years in a broad range of Veterans’ health needs from primary care and hospital medicine to geriatrics and hospice care. Dr. Jensen started at PrimeHealth+ in November 2023 and is very excited to start this new chapter in her career. She is excited to be a part of the future growth of community health services in our valley. Dr. Jensen is married with two daughters and two dogs and enjoys spending time outdoors hiking trails with the dogs and spending time with friends and family.
